Soft Phones

A softphone is a phone powered by the internet or a software that enables voice over the Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone calls. Softphones allow an FSU employee to make calls from their laptop, desktop, or any device of their choosing.

  • Flexibility | Need to work from home? With a softphone, as long as you have an internet connection you simply log in from your new location
  • Equipment | A headset with a microphone is all that's needed to get started
  • Cost and scalability | There is no incremental cost to adding a new employee to a softphone when they already have VoIP services
  • Real-time call scoring | take notes, manage contact information and more with built-in capabilities

Use of the no-cost FSU Virtual Private Network is required for soft phones.
